Admission Eligibility

  1. A non-Korean national whose parents are BOTH non-Korean nationals.
  2. Applicant who has completed, or is expected to complete all regular educational courses equivalent to Korean elementary, middle, and high school.

Student Visas

Students enrolled in degree programs at Korean universities may be eligible for a D-2 student visa. Visa eligibility and requirements are determined solely by Korean immigration and the university.

Wangsimni

The Wangsimni area, where Hanyang University’s Seoul Campus is located, is a vibrant student-centered neighborhood known for its affordable restaurants, cafés, and lively atmosphere shaped by multiple nearby universities. 

Hanyang University Station (Line 2), directly connected to the campus, along with Wangsimni Station (Lines 2, 5, Gyeongui–Jungang, and Suin–Bundang), provides excellent access to central Seoul, including Hongdae, Gangnam, and City Hall.

Yes. Applicants are required to submit proof of language proficiency. Some fields may require a higher level of proficiency.
The minimum accepted scores are as follows:
• Data Science majors: TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0
• Business Administration majors: TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0
• International Studies majors: TOELF iBT 89 or IELTS 6.5

Applicants must submit a TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) or TOPIK iBT certificate at Level 4 or higher, or a Hanyang IIE Academic transcript at Level 4 or higher.

Hanyang University has a single application round, which takes approximately four months to finalize.

Tuition is paid on a per-semester basis.

Unless otherwise stated as “copy,” all documents must be original. If a document cannot be reissued or the original is unavailable, a notarized copy may be accepted.

Yes. You can apply for the school dormitory on a per-semester basis.
Fees vary by room type, starting at KRW 682,000 for male students and KRW 909,000 for female students.

Hanyang University offers four scholarships to new applicants, which are selected during the admissions process without the need to apply:
• Hanyang International Scholarship Program (HISP): Based on overall scholastic achievement in the document evaluation or artistic work.
• Hanyang Scholarship for Excellence in English Language Proficiency: Awarded to applicants who achieve a TOEFL iBT score of 90 or higher or an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher.
• Hanyang Scholarship for Excellence in TOPIK: Awarded to applicants who have achieved a high level on the TOPIK exam.
• Hanyang Institute of International Education (IIE) Scholarship: Awarded to applicants who have completed the Korean language program at IIE.

Hanyang University may require interviews during the application process, depending on the program of choice.

The Seoul campus offers excellent sports facilities (track and field, Olympic gymnasium), diverse housing and dining options, and numerous on-campus shops to make daily life convenient for students.
The ERICA campus provides similar facilities on a smaller scale, including an outdoor theatre and various sports facilities such as a beach volleyball court, tennis courts, futsal courts, and more.
